Merit, Inclusion & Diversity

We named this page MID on purpose. Three words that only matter when they work together. Merit without inclusion is a rigged game. Inclusion without diversity is a closed circle. Diversity without merit is performance. We want all three — honestly, inseparably.

Merit

Real merit means the best idea wins regardless of who says it. But that only works when everyone is actually in the room, actually heard, and actually safe enough to disagree. We don't use merit as a word to shut people out. We use it as a reason to pull people in.

We evaluate work, not pedigree. We promote ideas, not hierarchy. We hire for what you can build and who you are — not where you went to school or who you know.

Inclusion

Inclusion isn't a training module or a quarterly initiative. It's whether someone can show up as themselves on their first day and still feel that way on their hundredth. It's built into how we run meetings, give feedback, make decisions, and share credit.

We're building platforms that bring people together in the real world. That mission is hollow if our own team doesn't reflect it. Belonging here is not conditional on assimilation.

Diversity

Diversity means the people building our products reflect the people using them. Different backgrounds, different experiences, different ways of seeing the world. That's not a nice-to-have — it's the only way to build something that actually works for everyone.

We actively seek out perspectives we don't already have. We recruit from overlooked communities, not just the usual pipelines. We know that homogeneous teams build blind spots into products and we refuse to do that.

How we practice this

  • Blind resume reviews for every role — names, schools, and photos removed.
  • Structured interviews with consistent rubrics so gut feelings don't override evidence.
  • Compensation bands published internally. No negotiation penalties.
  • Team retrospectives that explicitly ask: whose voice was missing?
  • Partnerships with organizations that expand access to tech careers.
  • No token hires. No diversity theater. People who are here are here because they belong.

We're building technology that gets people into the same room. The least we can do is make sure everyone's welcome.
